Over the weekend I had the pleasure of witnessing the joining of two families brought together by Kelly and Brian. For years Kelly and I have lived parallel lives; our kids are almost the exact same ages, went we through separations and divorce, learning to balance custody schedules and being self-employed. To have someone who understands what your journey is like, to sit with and say, "me too", is a huge blessing. I was thrilled when this summer we had the chance to plan our weddings just a couple months apart. Their wedding day was on a perfect fall day in LBI. From getting ready at Brian's parents' beach house, to being joined together at the Spray Beach Chapel with Kelly's dad as the officiant, and back to the house for a toast by Brian's son followed by a family first dance, it was a day full of family, laughter and love.
